New - Game design club
Do you want to develop computer games without spending countless hours learning how to become a programmer? - If the answer is yes then you've come to the right place.
From early 2007 Rawmarsh City Learning Centre will be offering a weekly club using the excellent Game Maker software.
Game Maker allows you to make exciting computer games, without the need to write a single line of code. Making games with Game Maker is a lot of fun.
Using easy to learn drag-and-drop actions, you can create professional looking games within very little time. You can make games with backgrounds, animated graphics, music and sound effects, and even 3d games! And when you've become more experienced, there is a built-in programming language, which gives you the full flexibility of creating games with Game Maker.
New - 3D Computer Animation Club
The 3D Computer Animation Club runs on a Thursday from 3.15pm to 5.15pm.
Young people have the opportunity to use MAYA software to design and create their very own characters.
Once your design is complete then you can animate the character to almost anything, add music and create your very own short animated film. This is a very creative opportunity which will challenge those young people who have a love of ICT.
The Rock School
The Rock School presents the opportunity for both young people and adults to learn how to play musical instruments. Our learners may choose from Lead Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums or Keyboard. The workshop, using the latest digital software and supported by professional musicians is designed so you can learn and progress at your own pace.

A little station with big ideas developed through the CLC project and based at Rawmarsh Community School. Currently broadcasting across the school campus with intentions of internet based broadcasting (from January 2006) and an FM Community Licence in the future.
We currently broadcast Wednesday, Thursday and Friday lunchtimes across the school campus through speakers and telephone system.
Showcommotion
The introduction of dance and music into the City Learning Centre has proved to be a huge hit with our young people. The launch of the Rawmarsh Showcommotion during the Easter break attracted 18 young people from both the host school and local primary schools.
The club gives young people the opportunity to learn dance routines to pop songs and songs from musical theatre. The progression for this simple, yet effective project is to design, produce, direct and edit pop videos for entry into the national Boom MTV awards competition in November 2005.
Showcommotion runs weekly every Saturday morning 10am to 12.30
In StITches
Take the opportunity to have a go at making your own creative textiles. The CLC is lucky to have a number of digital sewing machines. You can choose from our collection of Disney and designs or even use one of your own images to make items such as t-shirts, Baby grows and Pillowcases.
This club runs on a Wednesday evening 6:00pm to 7:30pm.
