Creative Cards - 17th & 21st August
Using the latest digital sewing machines you can create your own greetings cards from Disney characters, floral patterns or even create their own design.
The World on Your Street - 7th to 11th August
This 5 day workshop gives young people the opportunity to gain a range of skills from digital photography, music production, making musical instruments, DJaying and art. The theme of the workshop is ‘Around the World’ and will incorporate cultures and styles from 5 different countries.
T-Shirt Design 15th August & 25th August
This one day workshop gives you the opportunity to design your own T-shirt using Adobe Photoshop software. You will receive instructions on how to use the software to design your shirt which you will be able to take home with you in the afternoon.
Magazine Design - 29th August to 1st September
This 4 day project involves the production of a magazine. Young people will be involved in all aspects of print design production including, initial concept, design/layout, software tools, proofing, photography and digital imaging. All sessions will be led by specialists and will introduce participants to a range of skills.
About Me, Filmmaking Project - 14th to 18th August
In partnership with professional filming company Cmedia, this workshop will give young people the opportunity to make a film. Using claymation, 3D animation and live action techniques to create a 10 minute film.
Showcommotion - 22nd to 24th August
This is a three day workshop which allows young people to choreograph and perform their own dance routines to popular music and songs from musical theatre.
Circus Skills - 31st July to 4th August
A 5 day workshop, which will teach young people the skills of being a circus performer. Activities include, plate spinning, juggling, stilt walking, tight wire walking and unicycle riding. The workshop will culminate in a final performance to parents and friends.
Remix Radio - 22nd to 23rd August
Young people will have the opportunity to learn how to operate the state of the art technology in the professional standard radio station. We will create radio programmes and broadcast live across the CLC and School campus.
October Half Term: Boom TV Academy
During the October half term 18 young people from the local area created 5 pop videos for entry to the National Boom! TV Music Academy Competitiion. Using the coolest music from the backing of the pioneers of the music video, MTV, and the digital creativity from the staff at the CLC and Cmedia the young people were able to create their own pop videos.
The young people aged 9yrs to 13yrs learned how to storyboard a video, film, direct and edit their own music video using the latest in digital technology. The young people decided to create 3 animated pop videos and 2 live action pop videos, all were filmed on location at the CLC and at Rawmarsh Community School.
Professional make-up artist Jane Khan, who has worked with many celebrities joined us for a day to make a young people look like pop stars
The judging will take place on 23rd November and if our entries win we will be invited down to MTV for the day and the winning pop video will be played on MTV.
