Background, Summary & Overview
The Create IT project grew out of a project that introduced the children to web page design called Web Weavers. Introducing the children to other media types and techniques furthered the momentum of the original project.
During the Create IT project children are introduced to digital photography with iPhoto, Comic production with Comic Life, Adobe Flash and Wacom tablets, Animation in Serif Draw and Podcasting with Garageband.

Action Taken
The project ran over 5 sets of 5-week blocks. Each 5-week run was a stand alone unit. In the first unit, the children produced a podcast using Garageband. In the second unit, the children produced a caricature of themselves using Wacom tablets and Adobe Flash. The third unit saw the children creating their own comic books with Comic Life. In the fourth unit, the children produced their own animations using Serif Draw and in the final unit, the children used iPhoto to organise and edit their own photographs.
Impact & Outcomes
The impact and outcomes of this project have been wholly positive. The feedback that we have received from the children has been very good and they can't wait for the next run of the course.
The impact of the project isn't very easy to measure by it's very nature, but in the case of one certain learner the difference between their behaviour in the Create IT sessions that we provide and their general behaviour in school couldn't be more different.
With this in mind, I would suggest that the impact is large and positive.
